<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/herethere4.jpg' alt='Here and There Scarf' /></p>
<p><strong>project:</strong> Here and There Cables<br />
<em>source:</em> <em>Scarf Style</em><br />
<em>yarn:</em> Malabrigo - 2 hanks<br />
<em>color:</em> Brown Berries<br />
<em>needles:</em> #9 needles</p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/herethere2.jpg' alt='Here and There Scarf' /></p>
<p>Of course the yummy Malabrigo is lovely on the neck, so away it goes till next winter. But on to the socks!</p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/spindle11.jpg' alt='Spindle Socks' /></p>
<p><strong>project:</strong> Spindle Socks<br />
<em>source:</em> <a href="http://autoscopia.com/amelia/archives/2006/12/spindle_socks_1.html" target="_blank">My Fashionable Life</a><br />
<em>yarn:</em> Sweet Georgia Speed Demon - 1 hank<br />
<em>color:</em> Omakase 10<br />
<em>needles:</em> #2 needles</p>
<p>Spring has sprung (believe me, my itchy eyes and nose are telling me so!) What can I say, a perfect colorway for the season, PS earth, and it complimented the pattern pretty well too.</p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/spindle21.jpg' alt='Spindle Socks' /></p>
<p>I actually screwed up the cable pattern on the first sock. If you take a look at the progress pic in the last post, all my cables go the same way, instead of switching direction every group of 3. Of course I didn&#8217;t even realize until I started the second one and actually <em>read the directions</em>! Oh well, a little design element anyone? <img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/spindle3.jpg' alt='Spindle Socks' /></p>
<p>And we&#8217;re on a roll, for now we move into the brown part of PS Earth:</p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/firma-ribs1.jpg' alt='Terra Firma Ribs' /></p>
<p><strong>project:</strong> 3&#215;1 ribs<br />
<em>source:</em> no pattern<br />
<em>yarn:</em> Socks that Rock Mediumweight - 1 hank<br />
<em>color:</em> Terra Firma<br />
<em>needles:</em> #2 needles</p>
<p>Yes, I whipped these babies up too, thanks to the Mediumweight STR. My very first time knitting it up, and what a yarn! Love it.</p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/firma-ribs2.jpg' alt='Terra Firma Ribs' /></p>
<p>Just a simple 3&#215;1 rib pattern. I had wanted to knit Cookie&#8217;s BFF socks, but got terrible pooling down one side, so after just a couple of inches, RIP!</p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/firma-ribs3.jpg' alt='Terra Firma Ribs' /></p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/firma-ribs4.jpg' alt='Terra Firma Ribs' /></p>
<p>I definitely plan on getting some other kinds of projects knitted up soon. But I don&#8217;t know, what is it about warm weather and socks that just feels so right?<br />

<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/spindle1.jpg' alt='Spindle Socks' /></p>
<p>How quickly these are going! I haven&#8217;t worked on sport/dk weight socks in quite a while, but I couldn&#8217;t resist me some aptly named Sweet Georgia <strong>Speed Demon</strong>. They may even be finished by my next post! (And promise, it won&#8217;t be a month from now)</p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/spindle2.jpg' alt='Spindle Socks' /><br />
Look at those colors!</font></p>
<p>P.S. Thanks to everyone for your wonderful comments on all my sweaters last post. I swear I don&#8217;t knit that fast, just a tendency to leave mostly-done projects languishing about for quite a while.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m trying my best to get lots of long overdue projects finished already. Here&#8217;s what I&#8217;ve been able to keep my focus on.</p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/drops3.jpg' alt='DROPS jacket' /></p>
<p><strong>project:</strong> DROPS Jacket (not) in Eskimo/Silke-Alpaca<br />
<em>source:</em> <em><a href="http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=103&#038;d_id=1" target="_blank">free pattern</a></em><br />
<em>yarn:</em> Cascade Eco Wool - 2 hanks<br />
<em>color:</em> #8019 Antique<br />
<em>needles:</em> #10.5 needles</p>
<p>I had a ton of gauge issues with this little number. The Eco wool I thought would work for the chunky version, really leaned more towards the Aran. </p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/drops1.jpg' alt='DROPS jacket' /></p>
<p>Being a child of &#8217;70s, I was totally wary of the whole 3/4 sleeve thing at first (remember all those wide peasant sleeves? Ick.) But now, total modern love.</p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/dropsjacket23.jpg' alt='DROPS jacket' /></p>
<p>And from far back in my wip list, here is a completed Carpenter.</p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/carp.jpg' alt='Carpenter' /></p>
<p><strong>project:</strong> Carpenter by Kim Hargreaves<br />
<em>source:</em> <em>A Treasury of Rowan Knits</em><br />
<em>yarn:</em> Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran Tweed - 8 hanks<br />
<em>color:</em> Dove<br />
<em>needles:</em> #8 &#038; #7 needles</p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/carp2.jpg' alt='Carpenter' /></p>
<p>The delay was mostly due to turtleneck issues (I was getting an ultra wide neck, nothing like the book&#8217;s pic). I just didn&#8217;t feel like frogging and fixing, so it lounged&#8212;for 2 months. But after buckling down and reworking the decreases, I&#8217;m finally done, and after all, I really like this sweater for its super wear ability and simplicity. </p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/carp3.jpg' alt='Carpenter' /></p>
<p>Last but not least, the cabled mystery revealed! (Okay, a bit too much drama <img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> ) </p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/gedifra2.jpg' alt='Gedifra cabled sweater' /></p>
<p><strong>project:</strong> Gedifra Model 509<br />
<em>source:</em> <em>Gedifra Highlights 033 pattern book</em><br />
<em>yarn:</em> RYC Cashsoft dk - 9 balls<br />
<em>color:</em> Thunder<br />
<em>needles:</em> #5 needles</p>
<p>I know another 3/4 sleeve. Well I followed the mods of <a href="http://knits-and-pieces.blogspot.com/2007/09/front-and-back-cable-sweater.html" target="_blank">this amazing knitter</a>, but I did intend long sleeves, just totally ran out of yarn, of course. </p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/gedifra3.jpg' alt='gedifra3.jpg' /></p>
<p>It&#8217;s a little on the large side, my fault. But it&#8217;s warm and I&#8217;m content. Though I can totally see me redoing this as a more fitted longsleeve in like a cream, really get those cables to pop.</p>
<p><img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/gedifra4.jpg' alt='gedifra4.jpg' /></p>
<p>Whew! There are a couple more pics of most of the projects over on <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/aquaknits" target="_blank">Rav</a>. Oh yeah, and the Phildar sweater is going speedily too. Three cheers for chunkier yarn!! I&#8217;m on the sleeves, and I totally hope to finish it by the end of PS Fire (if all the end-weaving doesn&#8217;t kill me). And Twisted Tweed socks you say? Well, I do have 1 finished&#8230;you can&#8217;t have everything. <img src='http://aquaknits.factotum23.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </font></p>
