Nick of Time

Talk about last minute, but I managed to get 1 pair of simple socks knit up for Socktoberfest.

noro socks

project: Noro Socks
source: top down plain socks
yarn: Noro Silk Garden Lite - 2 balls
color: #2011
needles: #3 dpns

Basic, warm and fuzzy, I bought this yarn back in the beginning of the summer, but really got inspired from our hostess’s heavenly version.

I managed to match up the stripes okay, until the second ball didn’t have more than a strand of green at the end. So my toes are unmatched, but they’ll be perfectly toasty buried inside my nice winter boots.

And just because I’m spoiled as can be, here are the wonderful goodies I got in the mail over the weekend, from a swap with Tiennie.

Some gorgeous yarn, that I will be hunting down a great pattern for, beautiful green dpns from Grafton Fibers, all enclosed in this beautiful bag. (There was also some amazing Seattle chocolate…yeah well, it didn’t make it through the weekend for the photo session). Thanks so much Tiennie!

Next up–what to knit for NaKnitSweMo!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Love the socks, and I really like the one green toe. It just seems like the perfect touch even if it wasn’t on purpose.

I just found your blog and I had to delurk to say how lovely those socks are! Is silk garden itchy on the feet at all? I have seen these over the past few weeks and am seriously tempted to make some. Oh and yay for NaKniSweMo! :)

I just LOVE these socks! How cozy!! I ran out and bought some yarn to make a pair, and then realized that I bought plain ol’ Silk Garden, not Silk Garden Lite. Oh well, I’ll still make them work!

I love that the socks don’t quite match up. I think the green toe is charming, but I’m odd that way…
    Great pics, as always!
    Happy knitting-
