Scarf Style

project: Single Cable Scarf
source: One Skein
yarn: Lang Yarns Silkdream - 2 balls
color: #68 - chocolate brown
needles: #9 straights

So nice to have a warm non-itchy neck! This yarn was just perfect for this project. It has a wonderful drape, but still holds the thickness of the cable running down one side well. Some of the shine of the silk wore off with soaking, but still all that softness. I made a few mods to the pattern, adding a bit more width, and a fuller, 8-stitch cable, rather than 6.

To keep in theme with the cables, I’ve started a pair of Irish Hiking Wristwarmers to match.

The yarn is Artyarns Supermerino, in color #122 Shades of Seafoam. The second one to be finished really soon.

Aren’t instant gratification projects great?

These are some very yummy colors you knitted up with. Both are so beautiful! I know what you mean about wanting a non-itching scarf: I made one for my husband and hoping before winter is over to make one for myself. The mods that you made for the brown scarf really made the cable pop more!

Such beautiful, beautiful instant gratification. The scarf is really lovely (and different!) with the single cable. What a great idea - I love the asymmetry of it. And the wristwarmers are great too; I’ve been mulling over trying some Artyarns supermerino… looks like a dream to knit with.
PS: *Thank You* for your soap order! I hope that you’ll let me know how you like it! I am still coveting my sweet hanks of Philistine sock yarn… one of these days I’ll break down and get those knee-socks going!

I love the scarf! I’ve been eyeing that pattern for a while. It definitely does need the extra width.

A warm, nonitchy neck sounds heavenly. I love mohair but it does tend to scratch. Your seafoam wristwarmers are the perfect combination of summer and winter.

nothing involving cables is instant gratification for me- but yes… a simple garter stitch scarf, that I could pull off as instant gratification. Haha.
Beautiful photos as always.
