Three times a sock addict

Three pairs of socks have actually come off of MY needles! Garter Rib socks in sKNITches Banana Split.

I think I’ve finally gotten into the rhythm of socks. Even though I still sort of get annoyed about casting on for that second sock (like, “didn’t I just finish that?”), after the ribbed cuff, I can seem to get back into it and just enjoy the knitting.

As you can see, I was pretty lucky as far as matching them up, except for the toes. I actually like the second one where the toe is all brown better. Not sure where I screwed up, but I think I did the decreases closer together on the second one without realizing.

But I am quite pleased with the heels, two cute little brown heel pads now!

pomatomus socks

Pomatomus has been slow going due to finishing the garter ribs, but at last I am at the gusset of the first sock.

After the loosey goosey embossed leaves, I decided to go down a needle size and knit these on #1s. Since they’re so stretchy, thery’re fitting like a glove—I think these will be my first really perfect-fit socks.

The intimidation factor continues too. The first chart wasn’t so much hard, as simply requiring me to pay close attention. Hopefully the chart for the foot won’t send me into confusion.

sKNITches shop update tomorrow (Oct. 24th) around 12 noon, EST. Last update for October, and there are a bunch of new striped colorways this time!

The socks look great, what a great match with the striping!

I have found that my pomatomus (pomotomi) were the most comfortable, best fitting socks I’ve ever made.

Great socks! I took a peek at the shop update, too. I had to show a bunch of restraint - I’m saving up for something (non-knitterly). You have some great colorways going on there. I have a skein of Planetary that I bought from you, that I am going to dive into when I finish my hubbys socks.
