How to be a basketcase…

basketcase socks

Pair number two for Socktoberfest, my basketcase socks are all done!

This was a really fun pattern, quick and easy to follow. Just squeeked by with the amount of yarn, so pretty much all of 300yds sport/dk wieght to make these. They’re super squishy and thick, just what the doctor ordered for those “damn the floor’s cold” winter mornings.

Thre’s been a bit of sock yarn stash posting on the socktoberfest flickr group, and since most of mine’s been posted before, I’ll just give a quick overview.

sox-the stash

First detail pic: Kintpicks essential, KP simple stripes, my one lonely ball of trekking to try, fortissima cotton for hedera socks, Knitpicks Gloss in cocoa and Essential Tweed in inca gold (just arrived last week!), my lovely yarns from Knitpastis, and my first Cherry Tree Hill in a rich teal that beckoned me at the LYS last week.

Pic 2: Some Lana Grossa Meilenweit Cottons, Regia Canadian, a wound hank of Artyarns supermerino, Regia cottons, more Meilenweit Cottons, Regia multi-ringels, Regia nation, and yes more Regia.

Of course I haven’t counted any of my own yarns, of which there is quite a bit, so let’s just count what was purchased elsewhere, shall we? And after this overview, I’m oh-so-aware that I am seriously lacking in lorna’s, STR, koigu and lots of others I want to try. Future stash alert though, the boyfriend has learned the magical word of ‘koigu’. Nothing like training them early for Christmas. ;)

Ooo, those look so comfy! Wouldn’t it be great to wear those on a cold Sunday morning and curl up with a mug of hot cocoa?
