Tin Roof—Rusted | home | A Sock and a Pair

Let the games begin…
Here we are 4 days into Socktoberfest, and I’ve been knitting my little hands off in excitement. First up, I decided, are the embossed leaves socks from IK, done in Knitpicks Essential’s grass.

I’m really enjoying this pattern. My first real “patterned” socks, following a chart a certain number of times seems to be giving me some sort of speed rush, and I can tell I’ll have no problem completing the pair.

Even though the results look complex, the pattern has been surprisingly simple if I just keep my focus relatively on the chart. Maybe these will give me just the right amount of confidence to start those pomatomus socks.
Also last week I began these, simple garter rib socks in sKNITches Banana split, once again from Sensational Knitted Socks.

And even though it’s mainly all about socks right now (rusted root is on hold, the hoodie will be seamed sometime soon though), that doesn’t mean that the future isn’t all about other projects. Meet my newest library additions:

sKNITches update tomorrow (Thurday) morning around 11 am EST. Happy Socktoberfest everyone!

the socks all look great! i think i’ll have to try the embossed leaves pattern soon. I think Tracy Ullman’s book is great, my favorite is the linen skirt.!

Your socks are both so beautiful! I can’t wait to one day own some of this Banana Split yarn. I love the way it looks knitted up! Right now I am trying to learn this Baby Cable Rib stitch for a pair of socks and so far I can’t seem to get it. I might have to find some help on it.

Both gorgeous Socktoberfest entries. Love that embossed leaves pattern, and, of course, the Sknitches yarn is amazing!
