Tin Roof—Rusted

After finishing Orangina, I thought I’d better start putting all those finishing touches on all the wips that are lying around in limbo. Finish the crochet trim on the fluffy cami, rip back the top portion of my ribbon x-back and make it smaller. Finally add the turtleneck to the carraway sweater. Maybe even get cracking on my nautie that hasn’t been touched in like forever. Those good intentions lasted all of about 10 mins. So, yeah, presenting my progress on Rusted Root.

Just gotten to the ’sleeves off the needle’ part and so far a good fit. The silky tweed is a bit splitty and bothersome to work with, but it knits into a lovely, soft feeling fabric. I don’t think it was the best choice for showing off the lacework, but at least it will feel nice wearing it. Also got one sleeve done for the CP Hoodie.

Mostly my time has been spent hunting down good sock patterns for socktoberfest. Not that it’s been difficult. That’s the problem. TOO MANY great patterns. So far the contenders (dare I try to make 2 pairs?!)

pomatomus-little scared of this one
basketcase-looks like such a great pattern
embossed leaves-already bought the yarn
Smith Socks-again, got the yarn
rpm
Whitby (Knitting on the Road)
Retro Rib (IK)

And I didn’t forget about those Jaywalkers either. I’m going to take the next few days to get on that. Really. I am.

Ah, such lovely photos of your WIPs. I agree with the problem most often being too many sock patterns, not enough time!

NIce progress! I feel the same way about socks, esp. since I’m a newbie with them. I really want to try out Pomatomus and Jaywalkers, but I’m not sure I’m ready for them…

I can’t wait to see your projects when they’re all finished. You really use great colors. I can tell you first hand the Whitby is super easy to knit, and it goes pretty quickly. I used Lorna’s Laces Shepard Sport with 3mm needles.

Hey, those are looking great! Lovely cabling! I think I’m going to knit Anastasia and RPM’s, but may need to do an easy one! Yay B52’s ;)

I’ve knit with Silky Tweed before. I really like it - reminds me of cheaper, finer-gauge Summer Tweed. My silky stwed project really softened up with washing, too.

My first and favorite socks pattern to date: Anna Bell’s Elfine Socks.

Rusted Root is looking so good! I like your yarn choice. It gives the top an nice texture.

Pomatomus is not that scary…really. The end product is definitely worth the effort. You can do it!

Lovely indeed! I really like the way that is working up!

Good luck with a Socktoberfest pattern! It is too hard to choose. There are so many wonderfyl patterns out there, and more and more by the day. I usually stick to simple patterns, but I am enticed by the embossed leaves… such a pretty pattern!

Thanks for the ideas… I added the Basketcase socks to my list for the Socktoberfest.

Rusted Root looks great! I plan to make the Embossed Leaves socks for Socktoberfest too.

I’m really digging that wedge hat on the page with the embossed socks.

How much would you charge me if you made that for me?

I am so eager to see the Central Park Hoodie! I know you must be close to having it finished by now. The cables are just beautiful on this!! I haven’t started on my Socktoberfest socks yet. I probably will soon enough I am sure.
