Arsenic & Ol’ Lace
Okay, so nobody’s getting poisoned. Just stealing a great movie title in honor of orangina’s speedy growth.
It’s going alot faster than I expected. It seems my ‘a couple rows here, a few rows there’ approach is working well for this project. Only about 4 more inches of lace pattern to go for the front.
I must admit again, the color is not my first choice. It’s very pretty, but yellow and my skin tone don’t exactly shine together. But a bargain is a bargain, after all, and I can already tell, if it fits well, I’m going to love wearing it.
On the finishing front, the Heelless Sleeping Socks are done. I guess I have a lot easier time finishing an actual pair in a thicker weight yarn. (PROOF! 2 pictured together!)
I really love the way they turned out, except for the toes. These socks are finished by pulling through the last few stitches, like closing the top of a hat. And I gotta say, they feel and look sorta…..pointy elf-y.
All in all, I’d knit them again but with a more traditional grafted toe.
Lots of winter yarns being ordered and/or drooled over around here. These end-of-summer sales are killing me. More on that next time.

Everything looks great! Did you make the heelless pattern up or did you find it somewhere? I am new to socks and don’t really like the heel idea, like it’s forcing your heel to be right there and that size, don’t like that at all, so heelless might be good for me!!
(are you going to be dying some zoot suit anytime soon???)

I made those same socks last month! however, I added a heel. My toe was not quite as pointy, although I followed the same directions. I think that yours are still very nice though!

yellow can do wonders with the right “other” colors. your lace is so even!
