The start of something
I’ve been very neglectful of my blogging lately, but I’ve had a good reason. Really. See, there’s going to be a little hand-dyed yarn shop opening up around here real soon…
…here’s a sneak preview of a sock knitted with one of my self-striping yarns (also note my very first short row heel shyly shown in this pic). The shop will be carrying self-striping sock yarns that knit up in stripe patterns like this one, all different patterns, stripes of varying widths and all different colors. Also, I’ll have some variegated yarns , and some mostly solid hanks.
The yarn pictured is called Day Spa, and other than a slight modification (I’ve made the green stripe slightly skinnier for more pattern repeats per sock), this is how it would knit up.
Hopefully everyone else is as crazy for stripes as I am. What started off as a “I wonder if I can makes stripes like this…” has quickly turned into striped yarns piling up all over the place.
Another preview of some other yarns as they will be presented in the shop. I’ll definitely be posting the date/time for when the store will open up, but for now, let’s just say in about 2 weeks.
No current pic for Ms. Marigold, but I’m working on the neck ribbing right now, so definitely finished pics next time.

Wow! I can’t wait to see your shop! I’m sure it will be sold out in the first day, judging by your gorgeous yarns here! I love that pink and green sock. Those colors are like crack to me, and the brown is just perfect too. The different brown stripes remind me of the paper we were given in kindergarten to practice writing the alphabet. Have fun with your new shop!
