ground to cover

green gable

The green gable top is moving along rapidly, here’s a pic from a few days ago. I hope to be wearing it this weekend (that is, if the weather gets off this chilly, dreary kick it’s taken). The update on the fluffy cami is that the tank part is all done, and I’ve just begun the cowl part. So long as I can work out the crochet chain edging, it will also be completed soon.

I knit a little swatch of my dyed yarn from the last post, check out the pretty stripes:

Striping always feels like magic when you see it come all together. :)

And…

jaywalkerjaywalker

…presenting my very first sock!! It turned out a bit big even though I measured my foot for the larger size and everything (ok, ok, so I didn’t swatch). Shame on me. See that wrinkling across the top of my foot? Loose. But it’s not so big that it’s super uncomfortable, just will need a little elastic banding sewn into the top ribbing, a little tricked I learned on diana’s blog. The second pair of jaywalkers (that I will of course be knitting eventually) will be the smaller size. I should have known this right off—my size 9 feet stick off of some very skinny ankles—it’s a family thing.

Yarn delivery this week too!

silky wool #32

Finally my Webs order of Silky wool has arrived. It’s color #32 navy, and it is beautiful. Just light and airy enough for my chicknits cutaway, which I’ve just cast on for, and will share pics of next time.

The Green Gable top looks great! What a neat pattern. Your Jaywalkers don’t look saggy to me. It’s an odd one to swatch anyway. Love the striping…and that blue yarn! So nice. *sigh*
