Morning Becomes Electra…

electra

So my first venture into real colorwork is finally complete. While electra wasn’t really a difficult pattern, it was alot of work and I’m pretty proud of it.

Other than adding an extra color, the only modifications I made was to knit it in the round up to the armholes (I was just WAYYYY too scared of steeking!). The little trim color should have been the sugar almond color, but I thought the blue complimented the brown ribbing a bit nicer.

The most difficult thing for me was the picking up stitches for the neckline, since I’ve never done it before. My v-neck isn’t quite as sharp as it should be, but oh well, something to improve on. One thing for sure, I am SO glad to be finished weaving in all those ends.

Wow that is a beautiful vest! I love all the colors, they compliment each other well! I too think the blue on the edge of the ribbing looks even better!
Congrats and enjoy wearing it! :)

it looks GREAT to me. As to your v-neck not being as sharp as you’d like, the photo of the pattern in the background doesn’t look like their v comes to much of a point either. It’s not YOU. It’s the pattern! hee hee hee. Your work is beautiful

Wow, great colorwork! I want to try some Fair Isle, but it scares me. Yours looks so lovely.
