Color my world…
For the past week, I’ve been experimenting with Kool Aid again, this time with longer lengths of color for a more multi-striping yarn (check out Eunny’s blog for some tips for amazing stripe dyeing—such a talented knitter!). So, Cascade Eco Wool (natural color) in hand, I rewound the hank into about an 8 foot loop. I can’t even remember how much of which colors I ended up with, but I dipped into 3 bowls of a blueish-purple, a rusty orange, and a pale pale blue, and this is what I got.
Where the colors bled together a bit, spread some beautiful wheat and slightly greenish tones, really livening the yarn up. All wound up, it turned into this great looking sherbert-like mix of pretty colors, that I thought would be really cute knit up into a set of mittens and hat.
Here’s the first mitten all finished. I followed the Super Mittens pattern from Weekend Knitting.
I may add a white stripe or 2 of the original yarn when I knit the hat, just to break up some of rainbowy-ness. But they’re sure to make me a bit more cheerful when facing those bitter cold days in the coming months.

I can’t handle knitting, let alone dyeing my own yarn. That’s awesome and awesome looking.
You GO, girl!

Oh my GOODNESS, that yarn is beautiful. The shades are so soft and lovely. The mittens are perfect. Way to go, baby!
