Men really DO listen/A very knitty X-mas | home | Gratuitous Yarn Pr0n for the Weekend…

Smooth sailing until…
Damn kitchener stitch.
As you can see, my lace leaf pullover was working out well, but when I grafted the top & bottom together, what is supposed to be an invisible seam, is definitely quite visible.
It seems to have a slight twist leaning to one side. Not having ever used kitchener’s stitch before, I’m not really sure why this is happening. Am I pulling too tightly? Not tight enough?
Time to carefully un-stitch and seek the help of the knitty gods…..

I thought it was SUPPOSED to look like that. Like you were giving it a waist of some sort.

Hmmm, haven’t tried the kitchener….I’m sure the knittyheads can help though! I LOVE the backyard leaves scarf, beautiful!

Oooh, it looks great in that green. I really wanted to get that green, but I already had four balls of the blue, so I was frugal and bought more of the blue. You said you’re doubling the Cork, - how many balls did you use overall??
As for the Kitchenering, it looks like you’ve done it right. It is probably a little loose - you want to pull stitches snug to match the gauge of your knitting. And any little wonkiness/slantiness could probably be straightened out by just pulling on each the stitches a bit.
Best of luck! It’s going to be awesome!

Actually, I’ve only knit the body so far. I’m just beginning the sleeves now. I have a total of 12 balls, which I think is just going to make it for the size 42″. Kitchener problems solved with careful figeting, thanks to everyone’s advice.
Thanks for the compliments, finished sweater pics coming soon!
