falling leaves & greenery at Christmas time?

Two new wips—a Backyard Leaves scarf for my Mom for x-mas (her lack of interest in computers means no worry of her stumbling across this post) and the start of the Lace Leaf Pullover from Loop-d-Loop, at long last.

The scarf is knitting up fairly quicky in Jaeger Matchmaker Merino Aran. I’m about 8 repeats into the first half. It seems a bit skinny, but I’m on gauge, so I think after blocking it will turn out fine (fingers crossed). I’ve never followed a chart before, nor have I done any kind of lacey pattern like this, but after a few false starts and the occasional frustration (usually due to my trying to watch tv simultaneously) things are going relatively smooth. 2 weeks, 2 days and counting…

As for the pullover, I had hoped that this yarn, Rowan Cork in Sour, would become this sweater. It’s just the perfect color, and thanks to Jannette’s Rare Yarns on ebay, too amazing a price to pass up. So double stranded, I’m getting 12stitches/16rows instead of the 10/14 required, but I think it will fit nicely, maybe with a little more breathing room.

Christmas seems to be rushing along at a rapid pace around here. But with most everyone’s presents bought and/or on their way (post office don’t fail me now), I think I’ll get everything ready…that is of course if I can get started on my Grandmother’s lap quilt. Like soon. ;)

eh, i’m on blogger but have just started and have NO pictures up yet; Jeannette’s Rare Yarns is a great shop! In fact, I have TOO MUCH yarn partially because of her great prices! Your WIPS are great! mary
